On September 26, the “Guest Day” of the comprehensive national defense exercises “Namejs” took place. During the event, the cooperation and firepower of the National Armed Forces (NBS) and our allies — the NATO Multinational Battle Group — were demonstrated. Additionally, Latvian entrepreneurs and scientists had the opportunity to showcase their products, latest technological achievements, and innovations. In total, 32 Latvian entrepreneurs and scientists participated with their stands.
Throughout the day, the event was attended by Prime Minister Evika Siliņa, Minister of Defense Andris Spruds, Commander of the NBS Lieutenant General Leonīds Kalniņš, ministers, NBS soldiers, allied armed forces soldiers, and others.
“These were successful exercises, proving the cooperation between our armed forces, internal affairs services, and the defense industry, all represented here. The day’s demonstration is proof of our collective strength and coordination,” emphasized Minister of Defense Andris Spruds.
Elīna Egle, chairperson of DAIF Latvija, also noted: “There is a special energy, passion, and a desire to create something useful, more convenient, better, and more powerful for soldiers, the army, police, and border guards in the defense industry and research. Beyond business goals, there is an unwavering desire to protect our country, develop the national economy, help Ukraine, and strengthen the alliance. This selfless work is valued, encouraged, and supported.
